Delhi: The situation of severe air pollution continues to persist in Delhi. According to survey results, 7 out of 10 families are struggling due to pollution. Alerts have been issued indicating that pollution levels are expected to rise further.
The average pollution level stands at 266. Warnings have been issued that it will increase in the coming days, prompting authorities to decide to implement stricter regulations. The survey report indicates that 62% of families are experiencing at least one person suffering from eye irritation, while 31% report experiencing respiratory issues, including asthma.
The survey also states that pollution levels reached as high as 999 in some areas of the city on Diwali night, conducted by an organization called Local Circles. However, there is some comforting news as well: compared to previous years, the air quality in Delhi has improved after Diwali, with a less polluted atmosphere than in 2015.
