The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Bineesh Kodiyeri , son of former Kerala CPM Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, for drug trafficking case some time agog. Bineesh has been taken into custody from Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru where he was remanded till November 25. He was arrested by ED last month after a drug racket was busted in Bengaluru. NCB will approach the court tomorrow for request of custody of Bineesh. Earlier it was reported that the NCB would approach the court on November 18, when Bineesh’s bail plea regarding the current Enforcement Directorate case would be considered. Arrest of Anoop Mohammad, Rijesh Raveendran and a few others finally led the sleuths to Bineesh. Anoop and Rijesh – both close associates of Bineesh – are also at the same Central Prison. The NCB is yet to ascertain if the money was used for drug deals. Currently, the ED probe is focussing on a few firms owned by Bineesh which the sleuths suspect were being used as a front for money laundering.
