Lucknow: Senior BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav (60) was poisoned to death in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Gulfam Singh was poisoned to death by a three-member gang who came on a bike while he was at his farmhouse in Daftara village.
Gunnaur Circle Officer Deepak Tiwari said that after injecting the poison, they escaped. The assailants had come on the pretext of visiting the leader. After inquiring about his well-being, they took water from Yadav and made him drink it.
After giving him water, the accused injected poison into Yadav’s stomach as he went to sleep in his room. Later, Yadav, who was screaming in pain, died while being taken to the hospital. Forensic officers recovered a helmet and a syringe from the scene. SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that they are examining the CCTV footage and the accused will be arrested soon.
