New Delhi: An explosion occurred near PVR Cinemas in Delhi’s Prashant Vihar area on Thursday morning. The blast, reported around 7:50 AM, damaged a school wall, nearby shops, and parked cars but caused no injuries.
Emergency response teams, including fire tenders, police forensic units, and the bomb squad, were deployed to the site immediately. Preliminary investigations suggest a crude bomb may have caused the explosion, though other possibilities, such as a large firecracker, are being considered. Forensic teams have collected samples for further analysis.
Following the incident, the Delhi Police heightened security and cordoned off the area for investigation. CCTV footage from nearby locations is being reviewed to trace the sequence of events and any suspicious activities.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has ordered a multi-agency probe and assured residents that those responsible will be held accountable. He urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation.
