Delhi: The issue of fake threats targeting flights continues to persist. Following such threats, bullets were found on an Air India flight from Dubai to Delhi.
The bullets were discovered on October 27 on Air India flight 916, which had landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport. During the cleaning process, after all passengers had disembarked, bullets were found in the seat pocket beneath a seat. The cleaning staff immediately informed authorities. No other suspicious items were found. Information about the passengers seated near the seat where the bullets were found has been collected.
However, the exact time when the bullets were placed on the plane remains unclear. Authorities believe that if the timing can be clarified, it might help identify who placed the bullets under the seat. The discovery raises questions about possible lapses in security protocols, as thorough checks, including X-rays and baggage inspections, are conducted before departure. Authorities are investigating which airport might have experienced a security lapse.
In October alone, Air India flights received multiple threats, with around 32 flights reportedly facing bomb threats, as Air India stated. The NIA is investigating over 400 fake threats received within a two-week period.
