The CBI raided the house of Karnataka PCC president DK Sivakumar and his brother and Congress leader DK Suresh. The raid is said to be related to a money laundering case. The CBI team reached DK Sivakumar’s house in Kanakapura this morning. The CBI team also raided a house in Sadashiv Nagar in Bangalore.

But Congress came to the scene in response to the raid. The Congress alleged that the raid was a ploy by the BJP and was a prelude to the November 3 by-elections in Karnataka. The Congress also demanded that the corruption of the Yeddyurappa government be exposed first.

The Congress has accused the BJP of using central agencies to carry out political attacks in the run-up to the Karnataka by-elections. The CBI is investigating a case of illegal acquisition of property.
