Deep fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Five members of Congress IT team arrested

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested five members of the Congress IT team from Hyderabad in connection with the deep fake video case of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Congress leaders Asma and Geeta and social media gang members Naveen, Shiva and Manna were arrested. They will be brought to Delhi soon.

According to the complainant, Shah’s deep fake video was created, published and widely circulated on the Internet with the malicious intention of defaming the Union Minister. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against the social media handle of the Maharashtra Youth Congress and 16 others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act at the BKC Cyber ​​Police Station. Various social media platforms, officials said.

In the fake video edited and circulated, BJP leader Shah announced that the reservation rights of the SC, ST and OBC categories would be cut. Amit Shah lashed out at the Congress leadership in a press conference in Guwahati by releasing the actual video of the speech. Amit Shah had alleged that the Congress, which is afraid of failure, is making and spreading fake videos with the knowledge of Rahul Gandhi.

But Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge replied that BJP is the expert in making fake videos. Action has also been started in various states on fake videos. In connection with the case, the video was removed from various X accounts, including those of the Youth Congress and the NCP. The case is charged with creating enmity between the two factions.
