Chandigarh: Former Haryana Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Prakash Chautala (89) passed away following a heart attack at his residence in Gurugram.
He was the Chief Minister of Haryana for four terms. Om Prakash Chautala was born in 1935. Chautala was convicted in a job fraud case and spent nine and a half years in Tihar Jail.
Chautala was released from prison in 2020. His sons are political leaders Abhay Chautala and Ajay Chautala. Chautala’s grandson Dushyant Chautala was the Deputy Chief Minister in the previous BJP government in Haryana.
