Satyama Dubey, a resident of Delhi, has approached the Supreme Court seeking an inquiry under the supervision of a sitting judge or a retired judge. The investigation conducted by the CBI or SIT should be overseen by a Supreme Court Judge or a High Court Judge. The petition also contends that the police action, including burning the body without giving it to the family in the middle of the night, is grossly unfair. The petition is being considered by a bench headed by the Chief Justice.

UP police have registered a case of treason against a bystander, alleging that the protest was an international conspiracy to defame the Yogi government. A case of treason has been registered at the same police station which delayed filing a case in the gang-rape case. It is alleged that the group tried to provoke a riot. Chandpa police have registered a case against Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad, who visited the victim’s family for allegedly violating the ban and epidemic law. 4 Azad alleged that the police were on his protests against being COVID the spread of Chandrasekhar. CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury is arriving in Hathras today to visit his family.
