Heat wave hits in Rajasthan; 12 dead

Jaipur: Heat wave is hitting North India. In Rajasthan alone, 12 people lost their lives within a week. The temperature in the state is 48.8 degrees Celsius. Thursday recorded the highest temperature recorded in the country so far this year.

Alwar, Bhilwara, Balotra and Jaisalmer are experiencing extreme heat. Six workers died in Jalore and Barmer. Apart from this, the temperature was recorded above 45 degrees Celsius in Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

North India is sweltering in extreme heat while the rains are heavy in South India. Rains are wreaking havoc in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Various places in Kerala are facing waterlogging.
