New Delhi: Today, most people rely on trains (TRAIN) for travel purposes. A number of attacks on trains have been reported in recent times.
Indian Railways is all set to strengthen the security system of railway tracks. Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that CCTV cameras will be installed in trains to monitor the railway track and its surroundings. The minister’s announcement comes amid increasing train sabotage attempts.
It has been informed that cameras will be installed on the front, rear and both sides of the train’s engine and guard coach. The minister informed that the tender for this will be invited within three months and cameras will be installed in all trains. A common data center will also be established. Ashwini Vaishnav said that the video recorded in all these cameras will be saved
The Minister informed that the investigating officers suspect that there was a conspiracy to derail the train. Railway Ministry officials have spoken to the DGPs and Chief Secretaries of all the states. The Railway Minister said that everyone has been instructed to increase vigilance on the tracks. He added that an investigation is underway into the recent train accidents.
