On Wednesday morning, the wingtip of an IndiGo aircraft brushed into the wings of an Air India Express plane at the Kolkata airport.The passengers miraculously escaped the accident. An IndiGo flight, which was bound for Darbhanga in Bihar, collided with an Air India Express flight that was on its way to Chennai.
The wing of the Air India airliner collapsed owing to the impact of thunder. An IndiGo flight was also damaged. There were 169 passengers on the Air India flight and 135 on the IndiGo flight.
Meanwhile, the DGCA said that a detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident.
