Jaundice Outbreak in Vengoor; 232 affected, 1,977 cases confirmed this Year

Ernakulam: A young man died of jaundice in the state last week. This is the fourteenth death in Malappuram this year. Despite 232 people suffering from yellow fever in Vengur, the health department said that the disease is under control. The Ernakulam DMO gave a report to the Muvattupuzha RDO stating that there are no patients in the Panchayath and there are no new cases in Vengur.

It has been decided to submit the report of the magisterial inquiry conducted by the RDO to the District Collector within five days to find out the reason for the spread of jaundice. On Monday, there was a death due to yellow fever in Ernakulam Vengur. The other day, a 22-year-old man also died due to jaundice in Malappuram. According to the Health Department 1,977 people have been diagnosed with jaundice in the state so far this year .
