New Delhi: B R S M L C K. Kavita collapsed in Tihar Jail. Kavitha was immediately shifted to Delhi’s Deen Dayalu Upadhyay Hospital. The incident took place during the remand in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam case. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Kavita on March 15 in the case. According to the chargesheet, the South Group, which includes K Kavita, Raghav Makuntha, MS Reddy and Sarath Reddy, paid Rs 100 crore to AAP’s Vijay Nair.
Member of Lok Sabha from Nizamabad from 2014 to 2019, Kavitha is currently MLC. The case is that Kavitha conspired with senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party in the liquor policy and paid Rs 100 crore bribe to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
ED alleges that Kejriwal is ready to change the liquor policy in favor of the South Indian lobby instead. Kejriwal was earlier granted bail in the ED case but is still in jail after being arrested by the CBI. Manish Sisodia has also not got bail in the liquor scam case.
