Bengaluru: Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa has been arrested in the murder case. Bengaluru police arrested Darshan in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga. The Deccan Herald reported that police caught Darshan from a private hotel near Chamarajendra Zoological Garden in Mysore. The police say that Darshan is related to the three people who were arrested in the case of the murder of Renuka Swamy, a native of Chitradurga.
Two months ago, the body of Renuka Swamy was found in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalayam. There are scars on the head and many parts of the body. The police suspect that Swamy was killed because he had sent an obscene message to Darshan’s close friend, actress Pavitra Gowda on social media. As part of this, nine people related to Pavitra Gowda were taken into custody.
Darshan, who found Swami’s house as revenge, ordered a three-member team to kidnap him. The police also suspect that after taking it to the farmhouse owned by Darshan, he killed him and dumped the body in the sewer of Kamakshipalayam.
The investigation was started on the complaint that Swami was missing. Within days, three persons had surrendered at the station saying that they had killed Swami due to financial problems. However, the police did not fully believe this. Further investigation came to Darshan by interrogating them.
