Karnataka Government to build guest house in Ayodhya for Ram Bhakts

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa allocated Rs 10 crore for a ‘yatri nivas’ (guest house) in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. The Chief Minister, who holds the finance portfolio, said the yatri nivas will be built for pilgrims visiting Ayodhya from Karnataka.

Yediyurappa presented the state budget on Monday. A sum of INR 10 crore has been earmarked for the guest house. The grant in Budget 2021-2022 comes in the backdrop of the Ram Temple construction in the city. The UP government on its part assured the grant of a five-acre plot for the building of guest house. Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra has started the work of construction of a grand Ram temple in the ancient town of Ayodhya. The Karnataka authorities already runs comparable visitor homes in different pilgrim centres like Tirupathi. Earlier in 2020, on the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa requested his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adithyanath for two acres of land to build ‘Yatri Nivas’. The Chief Minister said that the yatri nivas will be constructed for the benefit of pilgrims from the Southern states.
