Kerala Devaswom Minister and MP-Designate K. Radhakrishnan Resigns, Submits Letter to CM

Thiruvananthapuram: K Radhakrishnan has resigned as a minister and member of the legislature due to his election to the Lok Sabha.
CM Pinarayi submitted his resignation to the Cliff House. A letter of resignation from the legislature will also be given to Speaker AN Shamsir.

Radhakrishnan came to Lok Sabha from Alathur constituency. Alathur is also the only constituency in Kerala where the CPM won the Lok Sabha elections. Radhakrishnan, who was the CPM candidate, defeated Congress’s Ramya Haridas, who was the sitting MP.

With Radhakrishnan resigning as a member of the Legislative Assembly, by-elections will be held in Chelakkara. There are reports that Congress may consider Ramya Haridas in Chelakkara. A decision may be taken in the CPM leadership meeting as to who will be the minister instead of Radhakrishnan
