New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has demanded that the interim bail be extended by one more week. Kejriwal’s interim bail in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case will end on June 1. In this situation, Kejriwal was approached with the request to extend the bail for another seven days.

The petition is based on health issues. Kejriwal has brought to the attention of the court that he has lost 7 kg weight and needs medical tests including PET-CT scan and that his bail should be extended. Kejriwal, who is out on bail till June 1 to participate in the Lok Sabha election campaign, has to return to Tihar Jail on June 2.

The medical team at Max Hospital has already done preliminary tests. The demand of Kejriwal’s lawyer is that further investigation is necessary and the court should extend the interim bail considering the situation. The BJP had come out against the granting of bail to Kejriwal during the Lok Sabha election campaign. In the election campaign, BJP criticized Kejriwal as ‘special treatment’ by the court.
