A Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh has resulted in the martyrdom of nine soldiers. The incident occurred at around 2 PM on Monday in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
The soldiers were traveling towards Kuthra in the Bastar region when they were attacked. Among the casualties are eight soldiers and a driver. There were 20 individuals in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
The vehicle exploded after coming in contact with an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on the Kuthru-Bedre road. Bastar Range IG P.Sundar Raj confirmed that investigations are underway to gather further details.
