Massive Weapons Cache Seized in Manipur by Army and Assam Rifles

A large cache of weapons was seized in Manipur during a joint search operation by the Army and Assam Rifles. The operation was conducted based on intelligence reports indicating that some areas were being used as hideouts by armed groups.

In inspections carried out across various districts in Manipur, the Army discovered 26 weapons, including nine MM carbine machine guns, an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel rifle, a pistol, 2.5 kilograms of explosives, and grenades.

On the 7th of this month, the Army conducted inspections in the Bishnupur and Gelbung districts. The searches were led by the Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and various security forces, resulting in the recovery of a significant cache of arms. In another operation conducted in the Churachandpur district, Chinese-made mortars, two pistols, and grenades were also found.

On the 8th and 9th of this month, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted inspections in various areas of Imphal, leading to the discovery of a large cache of weapons from different locations in the district.

Officials stated that the collaboration between the Army and Assam Rifles would help ensure security in the state. They also emphasized that the Army is committed to maintaining law and order in Manipur.
