Obstructing Duty, Violating Model Code of Conduct: Case Filed Against Atishi

Delhi Police have filed a case against Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi for violating the election model code of conduct and obstructing the police’s duty. The case has been registered at the Govindpuri police station under Section 223 of the BNS Act. The case also includes an allegation that an AAP party worker assaulted a police officer while Atishi’s convoy and crowd were being photographed.

Atishi, who is the candidate for the Kalkaji constituency, was accompanied by around 10 vehicles and 50-70 people in the area. According to the model code of conduct, the police asked the group to disperse, but they continued to stay, thereby hindering the police’s official duties, as claimed by the police.

Ramesh Bidhuri, the BJP candidate for Kalkaji, has also been accused of violating the code of conduct along with his family members, but no action has been taken by the Election Commission or police, Atishi mentioned. She added that she had filed a complaint regarding these violations but was now facing a case herself.
