‘One Earth, One Health Yoga’ is the message of this year’s International Yoga Day, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The celebration of Yoga Day has become a grand festival and along with Yoga, Ayurvedic treatment is gaining popularity all over the world.
The Prime Minister also clarified in Mann Ki Baat that he wants to make the whole world healthy through yoga. Along with fitness, the Prime Minister said with an example that people are closely monitoring how many steps they walk in a day, how many calories they eat and how much they use. Modi also said that Ayurveda is rapidly becoming popular in South American countries. The remark was made by highlighting Chile as an example. “Last year, during my visit to Brazil, I met the President of Chile. We had a lot of discussions about the popularity of Ayurveda,” the Prime Minister said.
Narendra Modi spoke about the rapidly growing popularity of AYUSH systems across the world and the contributions of those who are a key part of it. “I came to know about a team called ‘Somos India’. In Spanish, it means ‘We are India’. This team has been promoting Yoga and Ayurveda for almost a decade. Their focus is on treatment and educational programmes,” the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister urged everyone to include Yoga in their daily routines and take pride in the country’s traditional wisdom for overall well-being.
