In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, an all-party meeting will be held in Delhi today under the leadership of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The decision to convene the meeting was made following a two-hour high-level security committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, the country remains under high alert. The army has intensified its search operations for terrorists in and around Pahalgam.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, India has delivered a strong diplomatic message to Pakistan. Measures include suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and cancelling SAARC visas for Pakistani citizens. These decisions were taken during the high-level security meeting chaired by the Prime Minister. Those in India on SAARC visas have been asked to leave within 48 hours.
Additionally, the Ministry of External Affairs has announced that military attachés from the Pakistani High Commission must leave India within a week. India has also decided to reduce the number of Indian High Commission staff in Pakistan from 55 to 30. The cancellation of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty is considered the strongest move yet.
