Lucknow: In the wake of a tragic incident at Delhi Railway Station where passengers died due to overcrowding and chaos, authorities have tightened controls. Security measures have been implemented at major railway stations across the state, including Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Mirzapur, to manage the crowd. The Prayagraj Railway Station will remain closed until February 26, until the conclusion of the Kumbh Mela.
Additional Director General of Railways, Prakash, stated that passengers arriving at Prayagraj stations will be redirected to holding zones.
Around 500 trains operate daily at Prayagraj. To prevent accidents, strict instructions have been issued to both passengers and the police, and they have been requested to comply. The incident at Delhi Railway Station occurred at 10 PM the previous night, caused by delayed trains and confusion in announcements.
