As part of efforts to promote pollution-free transportation, petrol and electric vehicles will be available at the same price within the next six months, said Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. He made this assurance while addressing the 10th Smart Cities India Expo in Delhi. Gadkari emphasized that the government’s initiatives to promote local vehicle manufacturing and combat air pollution would bring significant changes in this sector.
The government is working on measures to equalize the manufacturing costs of electric and petrol vehicles within the next six months. This is expected to increase the adoption of electric vehicles across the country. The government’s goal is to make India the world’s third-largest economy, for which infrastructure development is crucial.
In this context, the 212-kilometer-long Delhi-Dehradun Express Highway is set to open within the next three months, the minister announced. He also stated that the government is studying cost-effective methods to build high-quality roads.
