The incident took place in Thalassery, the constituency of Speaker A.N. Shamseer. The Thalassery police strongly reacted to the transfer ordered by the Home Department. In a symbolic show of support, fellow police officers presented mementos to the transferred officers, inscribed with words praising their resilience in the face of challenges.
The officers who were transferred are Women SI Deepthi V.V. and SI Akhil T.K, who took action against the CPM local secretary and party workers after they allegedly created unnecessary trouble at the Mannoli Kavu Temple in Thalassery.
A farewell event was organized under the leadership of two SIs, during which their colleagues presented them with gifts. The inscription on the memento, which read “A tribute to those who stood strong in the fight for resistance,” has sparked controversy, bringing embarrassment to the police force itself.
