Political parties must stand united; extremists are misusing religion, says P. K. Kunhalikutty in response to the terrorist attack

Muslim League National General Secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty has responded to the terrorist attack that shocked the nation. He stated that during such a grave crisis, political parties must stand united, and extremists are misusing religion for their own agendas. The terrorist attack targeted tourists in Pahalgam, South Kashmir. The assailants opened fire on tourists who had gone trekking to the Baisaran hilltop.

Twenty-nine people were killed in the brutal attack. Among the deceased was a man named Ramachandran from Edappally. Of the 17 injured, the condition of three Malayalis remains critical. Reports indicate that the Lashkar-e-Taiba was behind the attack. It is believed that the operation was directed from Pakistan by Saifullah Kasuri.

Six terrorists, including two locals, were involved in the attack. The two local terrorists from Kashmir are said to have joined the group after crossing into Pakistan for training in 2017, becoming part of the last batch of foreign-trained militants. Authorities are investigating the source of the motorcycles used by the terrorists. An NIA team has reached Pahalgam for further investigation, and reports suggest that one local terrorist has been identified.
