The heartbreaking image that revealed the intensity of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, showed a helpless wife sitting beside her husband who lay dead after being shot. The couple in the photo were Vinay Narwal (26), a native of Haryana and a Navy officer stationed in Kochi, and his wife Himanshi.
The photograph, which powerfully conveyed the horror of the attack, was widely shared on social media starting Tuesday evening.
Vinay and Himanshi were married on April 16. After their wedding celebrations, they took leave and traveled to Kashmir on April 19. While celebrating their honeymoon at Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, terrorists opened fire, killing Vinay in front of his wife. Neighbors, locals, and colleagues remembered Vinay as a vibrant and dedicated officer.
