New Delhi: Former Deputy Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani will be conferred the Bharat Ratna by President Draupadi Murmu on Sunday. It is reported that the President will visit LK Advani’s residence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P. Last February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that Advani would be awarded the country’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. Born on 8 November 1927 in Karachi, Pakistan, Advani is the longest-serving president of the Bharatiya Janata Party since its inception. In a parliamentary career spanning nearly three decades, Advani served first as Home Minister and then as Deputy Prime Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet (1999–2004).
