Private University Bill Debate: Speaker’s Reprimand Sparks Response from Left MLA K.T. Jaleel

Left MLA KT Jaleel reacted to the incident where the Assembly Speaker reprimanded him for not following the timeline during the discussion on the private university bill. Jaleel wrote on Facebook that the time taken to explain the bill was a bit long and if anyone felt that it was a criminal offense, then all he could do was sympathize.

K.T. Jaleel’s Facebook post:

Below is the speech he made in the Assembly the other day while participating in the discussion on the Private Universities Bill. The time was a bit long when it came to explaining the details related to the bill. If anyone felt that it was a criminal offense, one can only sympathize. He has come to the Assembly for the fourth consecutive term from Malappuram, a League stronghold. Naturally, there will be a little “stirring”. But that may not be easy for those who sell dates in “Mecca”.

Speaker A.N. Shamsir got angry with K.T. Jaleel for not ending his speech despite being asked to do so during the consideration of the private universities bill on Monday. Ten minutes into the speech, the speaker was repeatedly asked to end it.
