The national agitation of the Congress against the agricultural bills will begin today. The Congress has called for protest rallies in all states. The opposition, led by Ghulam Nabi Azad, met the President yesterday and demanded that the agriculture bills be returned. The Youth Congress Parliament held a march in Delhi. All of this will be followed by today’s nationwide protests. The Congress said it would be part of a protest in Delhi, including by major party leaders.

The Opposition also opposes the passage of the Labor Code Bills along with the Agriculture Bills. Farmers’ organizations have called for a Bharat Bandh tomorrow. The bandh was called by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee. Farmers in Punjab have also announced a train blockade. The Kisan Masood Sangharsh Samiti has announced a strike on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of this month. Yesterday, the last day of the parliamentary session, the Congress members came with rice and protested.

Central trade unions have come out in support of the Kisan Sangharsh Coordinating Committee’s nationwide agitation against the Agriculture Bills and the Bharat Bandh. The trade unions CITU, AITUC, HMS, NTUC, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC announced their support for the strike.

At the same time, Union Minister Smriti Irani criticized the struggles of the Congress as anti-farmer. Congress is trying to mislead the farmers about the Agriculture Bill. Agriculture bills have been passed that will enable farmers to produce independently, ensure income, and secure farmers’ land. Agriculture bills will make farmers self-sufficient. Smriti Irani also asked why the opposition was opposed to the bill.
