Quarry blast ; 8 people dead and damages several houses

Chennai: Eight workers died in an explosion at a quarry in Tamil Nadu. The incident took place in Kariyapetti in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu. The explosion took place in a warehouse where ammunition was stored.

Two lorries parked near the godown were burnt in the blast. About 20 nearby houses are also damaged. It is known that the quarry had a license. But the district collector also said that it is suspected that the explosives were kept in excess of the permissible quantity.

Meanwhile, one of the accused in the shooting case committed suicide outside actor Salman Khan’s house. Anuj Tapan (32) died. Police informed that Anuj, who was in custody, tried to commit suicide and was taken to a hospital in Mumbai but could not be saved. He was arrested on April 26 from Punjab.

Anuj Tapan and Sonu Subhash were arrested by the police on April 26. Apart from them, Vicky Gupta and Sagarpal, who fired at the house, are also in police custody. The accused were arrested during the investigation conducted on CCTV.
