Rameswaram cafe blast in Bengaluru, CCTV footage of accused out

Bengaluru: CCTV footage of the suspect in the Rameswaram cafe blast is out. The footage from the cash counter of the cafe and the footage from the nearby bus stop have emerged. A man aged between 28 and 30 wearing a hat and wearing glasses has emerged.

Footage of the bus alighting at the bus stop near the cafe has also been obtained. Other CCTV footage from the cafe shows him covering his face with a hat. The young man who paid the bill and bought the food left the table without eating it. After going to the hand washing area, he left the bag and then left the place. The explosion happened after that.

The IED exploded at Rameswaram Cafe (near ITPL Road) in Brookfield at 12.55 pm when there were around 250 customers in the cafe . He planned to kill many people and chose a busy time for the blast.

Most of them are employees of software companies and financial services firms. The preliminary investigation found that the blast was carried out by a man aged between 25 and 30. A senior police officer, who analyzed the CCTV footage, said the masked man was spotted alighting from the bus near the restaurant around 11.30 am. Bought a plate of rava idli at the cash counter and took the token. After leaving the bag near the dustbin, he came out around 11.45 am. An hour later, the bomb was detonated using a timer.

The city police is deploying AI-powered facial recognition technology to identify the bag dropper. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said that the facial features of the accused have been recorded in the CCTVs and are being matched using facial recognition systems to track the accused.
