Recognition as an Asian achievement for the marathon run by DMK: Decision to donate 23 lakh rupees to Corona Fund

To commemorate the 2nd anniversary of Karunanidhi, DMK President Stalin launched the ‘Kalaignar Memorial International Virtual Marathon’ yesterday at the Anna Arivalaya premises. Accordingly, the marathon was held for 25 days from August 7 to August 31. He competed in marathons from different parts of the world to the 5km, 10km, and 21km distances from his location. In the backyard garden of their respective homes, on the treadmill, Corona ended up running according to curfew rules.

8,541 people from 28 countries and 12 states in India took part in the marathon. The registration fee was Rs.300 per person. Out of that amount, Rs. 23,41,726 received as service tax is to be given to the Government of Tamil Nadu as a Corona Disaster Relief Grant as announced at the beginning of the marathon.
