New Delhi: It is reported that Tahavor Rana, one of the masterminds of the Mumbai terror attacks, had visited Kochi. Rana gave a statement that he had visited Mumbai, Delhi and Kerala and that he had come to Kerala to meet acquaintances. The addresses of those who had visited various places were handed over to the Crime Branch during interrogation. A Mumbai Crime Branch team may reach Kerala for investigation.
Rana was questioned by the Special Investigation Team in Mumbai. Rana has been in the custody of the Special Investigation Team for the past few days. The Special Investigation Team from Mumbai arrived in Delhi to question him as his custody period was about to end.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency is also investigating whether the Pahalgam terror attack was triggered by the extradition of Tahavor Rana to India. There are unconfirmed reports that the attack was carried out in retaliation for Rana’s extradition to India. Security at the NIA headquarters, where Rana is being questioned, has been beefed up in the wake of the terror attack.
Tahawoor Rana, who was close to David Coleman Headley, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Pakistani military officials, was one of the ISI’s main weapons against India and was extradited to India by the US on the 10th of this month.
