Sadanand Vasant IPS, as the new chief of the NIA

New Delhi: Union Home Ministry has appointed Sadanand Vasant IPS as the new chief of NIA. Piyush Anand IPS has also been appointed as the General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The appointment of new officers is due to the expiry of the tenure of the current Director Generals. Sadanand Vasant is a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Police Service. Served as Deputy Inspector General of Police in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

He was awarded the President’s Medal in 2007. Currently serving as Director General of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
