Senior Congress leader Shivraj Patil’s daughter in law joins BJP

Mumbai: Senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil’s daughter-in-law Archana Patil Chakurkar is in the BJP. The membership was accepted from Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at a function held at the party headquarters in Maharashtra. The party entry was in the presence of senior leaders. Archana had a meeting with Devendra Fadnavis yesterday. The BJP’s entry comes just days before the Lok Sabha elections in the country.

I was also influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Women’s Reservation Bill. It provides equal opportunity to women in all fields. I have worked for the people of Latur. I want to work with BJP for the welfare of people. Archana said.

With Archana from the Chakurkar family joining the BJP, it will pave the way for the NDA to get the votes and support of the Lingayat community. Lingayats are a community with a significant influence, including in Latur district. Earlier they had given firm support to the Congress, but the situation has changed since the 2014 elections.

Welcoming Archana Patil to BJP, Devendra Fadnavis said her joining will strengthen the party. He said that Shivraj Patil is a very strong leader. Today Archana Patil is coming to our party from her family and it’s a big deal. Shivraj Patil has a great political legacy. Archana brought that tradition. This will strengthen the party. The Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be held in five phases. Elections will be held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13 and May 20. Voting will be held on June 4.
