Mumbai: One of the accused in the case of shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s house has committed suicide. Anuj Tapan (32) died. Police informed that Anuj, who was in custody, tried to commit suicide and was taken to a hospital in Mumbai but could not be saved. He was arrested on April 26 from Punjab.
Anuj Tapan and Sonu Subhash were arrested by the police on April 26. Apart from them, Vicky Gupta and Sagarpal, who fired at the house, are also in police custody. The accused were arrested during the investigation conducted on CCTV.
The shooting took place at around 4.55 am on Sunday, April 16, in front of the actor’s house Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The Mumbai police said that Salman Khan was at home when the incident took place and the Mumbai police said that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the shooting. Rajasthan’s Rohit Godara, who heads Bishnoi’s team, is the mastermind. Salman Khan’s black bear hunting incident is the reason for the enmity of the Lawrence Bishnoi group.
PK Jain, a senior former police officer of Maharashtra, told the national media that the death in the lock-up would be reported as murder and all the policemen on duty would be interrogated by the CID department.
