Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that government intervention in education policy is minimal and that the country’s education policy is for everyone. He was speaking at a meeting of governors on national education policy.
Education policy and the education system are the main means of fulfilling the aspirations of the country. Central and State Governments and Local Self Governments are all responsible for the education system. But the intervention in the education policy of the governments should be kept to a minimum. Foreign policy and defense policy belong to the country, not the government. The Prime Minister said that education policy is the same and it is for everyone.

He said the new education policy would pave the way for the opening of campuses of top international institutions in India so that young people from ordinary families in the country could join it. He added that the new policy is to equip the youth of the country with the knowledge and skills needed for the future.
