Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that the Election Commission is committed to provide a truly festive and democratic atmosphere to the country. There are a total of 96.8 crore voters. The Chief Election Commissioner said that there are 10.5 lakh polling stations, 1.5 crore polling officers and security personnel, 55 lakh EVMs and 4 lakh vehicles.

Vote from home for people over 85 years old and differently abled. 1.5 crore polling officers have been appointed to man the polling booths. The Election Commission also said that there are 48,000 transgender voters in the country. The Election Commission said that the number of voters between 20 and 29 in the country is 19.74 crore. There are 82 lakh voters above the age of 85 years.
