The Supreme Court rejected Mamata’s request not to hand over the Sandeshkhali case investigation to the CBI

New Delhi. Supreme Court rejected Mamata’s plea against handing over Sandeshkhali case to CBI. On March 5, the Calcutta High Court directed the investigation of the case to be handed over to the CBI. Mamata approached the Supreme Court against this.

After the case was handed over to the CBI, the court had directed the Bengal Police to release the accused Sheikh Shah Jahan in the custody of the CBI. It was suggested that the investigation of the case be handed over to the CBI when Shah Jahan tried to attack the ED officials.

Then on March 6, the accused Shah Jahan was released in the custody of the CBI. Last day, the CBI custody period of Shahjahan was extended till 14.
