Three policemen were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. Four people were injured in the clash, of which three were policemen who later succumbed to their injuries. The martyred policemen have been identified as Tariq Ahmad, Jaswant Singh, and Balwinder Singh. Reports indicate that one jawan is in critical condition.
One terrorist was also killed in the encounter, bringing the total number of terrorists killed to three. The encounter is still ongoing in the area.
Four days ago, terrorists had entered a residential area in Hiranagar, Kathua. Although a search operation was conducted, the terrorists escaped into the forest. Their presence was detected this morning in a forest located 26 kilometers away from the area, leading to the ongoing encounter.
