Security forces detained two women who had crossed into India illegally from Bangladesh. The operation, conducted jointly by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Border Security Force (BSF), led to their arrest at Agartala Railway Station.
The arrested individuals, identified as Nilufa Begum and Jaismin from Shariatpur, Bangladesh, were reportedly attempting to travel from Tripura to Delhi. The operation was based on intelligence provided by the security agencies.
The women are currently being interrogated by female officers at the Agartala GRP Police Station. Authorities suspect that more individuals may have crossed into India from Bangladesh, prompting plans for intensified border inspections. A case has been registered at the Agartala GRP Police Station regarding the incident.
