Waterlogging continues in Ernakulam; Low-lying areas under the water

The Ernakulam district, which has an orange alert, has received less rain but floods are still prevailing in various parts of the state. The Muvattupuzha market road was flooded in the morning. As the water level in Elur dwindles, people are returning home.

The low lying areas of Ernakulam district were inundated due to heavy rains. As the rains receded, most areas began to recede. But houses, including Eluru, are still flooded. Those who come to places where the water has changed change the house. The Muvattupuzha River overflowed after the shutters of the Malankara dam were raised by 90 cm. Muvattupuzha Market Road, Rotary Road, Everest Road, Perumattom, and Schoolmari were flooded.

This was followed by a 20 cm reduction in water flow. The rains continue in the hilly areas of the district. About 1,200 people have been relocated to safer places in 46 camps.
