Kollam: A woman reported missing from Karunagappally has been found murdered and buried by her friend. Jayalakshmi (48) went missing on the 6th of this month, following which her relatives filed a police complaint. Jayachandran, her friend, has confessed to killing and burying her, according to the police.
Jayalakshmi and Jayachandran were reportedly close friends. According to Jayachandran’s statement, he suspected her of being involved with someone else, which led to the crime. Based on his confession, the police are conducting a search in Karur.
The investigation began when police recovered Jayalakshmi’s mobile phone, which Jayachandran had abandoned on a KSRTC bus. The phone, which was switched off, was found by the bus conductor, who handed it over to the Ernakulam Central Police Station. Tracking the phone’s tower location and call records led the police to Jayachandran.
