55 crore devotees took a holy dip at Maha Kumbh Mela; UP government released the figures

Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that a total of 55 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. Drone footage of the devotees performing the ritual has also been released through the government’s official X account.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, a symbol of the country’s cultural heritage, is set to conclude on February 26. The spiritual journey witnessed the participation of several prominent figures, including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and various Union Ministers. Just yesterday alone, 1.15 crore pilgrims took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.

Meanwhile, the UP government also made arrangements for prisoners in Unnao jail to take part in the sacred ritual. Holy water from the Triveni River was brought to the jail, allowing inmates to bathe in the purified water. Special arrangements were made inside the prison, where the collected water was mixed in a water tank for the ritualistic bath.
