75,000 medical seats to be added across country in next 10 years, Amit Shah

As part of improving healthcare facilities, the central government plans to add 75,000 medical seats across the country in the next ten years. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to bring comprehensive reforms in the health sector. He was speaking while inaugurating the Heeramani Arogya Dham Hospital in Adalaj village in Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi first launched Swachh Abhiyan. It was a cleansing campaign to get rid of many diseases. After that he ensured that every family had access to drinking water and toilets. This also helped the people to get rid of many diseases. Later he popularized yoga. After this, Modi also implemented the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which provides free treatment up to five lakh rupees. Ayushman Bharat has set up Primary Health Centres, Family Health Centers and new Medical Colleges to reach people better.

Each medical college consisted of 14 departments. An additional 75,000 medical seats will be added in the next ten years. Part of the comprehensive plan was to start distributing medicines at low cost through government-run pharmacy stores. Amit Shah added that the Modi government has implemented around 40 different schemes for the welfare of 140 crore people in the country.
