The firing occurred on Thursday night along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. Military sources reported that a strong counter-response was given. The incident follows the recent terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, which has triggered a new crisis between the two neighboring countries.
A total of 26 people, including a Malayali, were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. In response, India has accelerated its tough stance against Pakistan. As part of these actions, India has issued a notification suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and has officially informed Pakistan of the decision.
