Amit Shah Declares Naxal Fight in Final Phase, Pledges to Eradicate Terrorism

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the country’s battle against Naxalism is in its final phase and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from India. Shah was speaking after meeting individuals who had renounced their association with Naxal groups through the central government’s rehabilitation programs.

The meeting, held with around 30 former Naxals from Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, Maharashtra, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, highlighted the impact of the government’s policies.

“Last year, security forces eliminated 287 terrorists and arrested over 1,000. Additionally, 837 individuals surrendered to the authorities. For the first time in four decades, the number of deaths in terror-related incidents has fallen below 100, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anti-Naxal strategy,” Shah stated.

Shah praised the efforts of the police and security forces in Chhattisgarh, calling their work exemplary. He expressed joy over the surrender of former Naxal members, saying, “I am happier for the families of those who surrendered than anyone else. Violence is not the path forward; it is time to choose progress. Those involved in anti-national activities must surrender, and the government will address their concerns.”

He further expressed confidence in realizing the vision of a terror-free and drug-free India under the current administration’s policies.
