Baloch Militants Hijack Train; 104 Passengers Rescued, Several Injured

Lahore: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an armed group fighting to liberate the Balochistan province from Pakistan, has reportedly freed 104 of the hostages it took after attacking a train. It had threatened to kill the hostages if the army intervened. However, the Pakistani army ignored this threat and launched an airstrike. There were 450 passengers on the train. Of these, 182 were taken hostage by the separatists.

The Baloch Liberation Army hijacked the Jaffer Express, which was going from Quetta to Peshawar, yesterday. Baloch terrorists hijacked the train yesterday. There were reports that the security personnel on the train were killed.
There are also reports that locals have heard gunshots from the train. 30 security personnel were shot dead. Many passengers were injured. It is also reported that 1320 BLA members were killed in the clash with the Pakistani army.

It is reported that there were more than 500 passengers on the 9-coach train that left at 9 am yesterday. There are 17 tunnels on the route through the mountains. At the entrance of the eighth tunnel, an armed group opened fire on the train and took the passengers hostage.
